Cypriot citizenship by years of residence
Foreign citizens who have officially lived in Cyprus for 7 (seven) years are entitled to apply for citizenship. Actual residence is currently considered to be equivalent to 2.555 days of residence over 10 calendar years.
Application Procedure:
- The applicant is required to legally reside in Cyprus for 12 (twelve) months prior to submitting the application.
- Over the last 5 years, the applicant must not leave the country for more than 6 months
- The applicant must provide documents confirming his identity, marital status, as well as a detailed report of arrivals and departures to and from the Republic of Cyprus
- All documents issued abroad must be accompanied by an official translation into Greek or English, certified by APOSTILLE
